Worldwide, US and China are leaders in the automobile industry. The auto industry in India has also grown exponentially, annually producing around 23.7 million vehicles, according to SIAM. There are around 12 million cars out of warranty at present and growing at the rate of approx. 15% each year. Hence, the aftermarket category, according to a latest ACMA report is about 40000 crores and is expected to reach 2 lakh crores by 2026. There is a huge need to refurbish and organize the market to get better quality service and automobile efficiency.
Speaking on the launch of Gaadifix at the AUTO EXPO, Nitesh Jain, CEO& Co-founder said, “We are excited about the massive opportunity in easing the car repairs and maintenance for the 30 million vehicles on-road. This is a unique problem and impacts car users, manufacturers as well as the Government and will also solve for counterfeit parts, on demand mechanics and availability of genuine spare parts, all on one platform.”
Commenting on the launch, Nitin Bahl, Co-founder, said, ”We think Gaadifix will also enable mechanics to get a higher income and better lifestyle. At present we have 1300 mechanics mapped in Delhi NCR and are expecting 5000 mechanics by end of this year. ”
The massive growth of the automobile industry has also brought with it an increase in the number of counterfeit automotive parts in the market. More than 20 percent of all road accidents in India happen either directly or indirectly due to counterfeit automotive parts. The fake parts market is also leading to a huge loss for the government and it is losing about Rs. 2000 crore a year in tax revenue.
