&pictures, India’s leading premium Hindi movie channel, have introduced a new genre for entertainment buffs – Chiniwood. Going by the mantra ‘Bollywood se zyaada masala, Hollywood se zyaada action’, the martial arts film festival Chiniwood is seeing some of world’s biggest martial arts action heroes like Tony Jaa, Jackie Chan and Jet Li amongst others fighting it out.
The latest offering is Jet Li’s blockbuster ‘A White Snake’s Revenge’ in Hindi on Friday, 18th March at 8 PM.
In an interview with Jet Li, he mentioned that he got tricked into accepting the role. The producer supposedly convinced him that he didn’t have to fight a lot, but it turned out to be the opposite. But he was happy with the outcome and his decision.
Also, during the shoot of the movie, Jet Li revealed that this was his most tiring role till date because he had to hold back every punch against his opponents (mostly women with no martial art background) while they went all out on him.
This action fantasy film directed by Ching Siu-Tung is based on an old Chinese legend of an herbalist who falls in love with a thousand-year-old white snake disguised as a beautiful woman. The demon in the White Snake, Susu and a human, Xu Xian fall in love but not without complications. Jet Li stars as a sorcerer from a temple whose mission is to subdue demons and slay monsters. He discovers the white snake’s true identity and battles to save the man’s soul from the snake.
